THE PILATUS PC-12 FAN CLUB

Practice makes perfect. There are over 1,750 PC-12s in operation, with a cumulative total of more than seven million flight hours.

The plane is so versatile and reliable that it is used by the Royal Flying Doctors of Australia, air ambulances in Africa, the US Navy and Air Force, the Canadian Mounted Police, airlines in Brazil, Chile, China, New Zealand, South Africa, the US and several European countries.

CREDENTIALS

Hand-built in Switzerland, the Pilatus PC-12 has gone through continuous evolutionary development. Super Legacy fits a brand-new Pratt & Whitney PT6A-67P engine, which uses only 70 per cent of its maximum potential power.

We also fit a German-built, state-of-the-art MT seven-blade composite propeller. Smaller, quieter and lighter, it improves climb and cruising performance while having 45 per cent less vibration. Remarkable.

TAKE OFF AND LANDING

The plane takes off from runways up to 1,000 feet shorter and can land at 21,300 airports – 11,000 more than other private aircraft.

It can also land on almost any surface: grass, grit, mud, sand or tarmac.

Instead of worrying where to touch down, just decide where you want to go. Fly to St Tropez and land within eyesight of the village. Or straight into Courchevel and St Moritz where most jets can’t even land. Drop in at a country estate for a round of golf, shooting or fishing.

PASSENGER SPACE, LUGGAGE, OVERSIZE CARGO

The spacious cabin seats up to eight passengers and their luggage. Two seats are easily removed to create a giant cargo hold large enough for excess baggage to be a distant memory.

The bright, pressurised cabin has Wi-Fi and Internet connections and USB charging ports in each seat. A fridge and WC are standard but other personalised features can be planned into the interior design.

Open the extra-wide 1.3 metre square rear door and load up to 70 cubic metres of cargo. Imagine: bicycles, artworks, vases, surfboards, fishing gear, scuba gear, skiing equipment, golf bags, camera and film equipment, extra clothes, more extra clothes, the barbecue (land somewhere remote for lunch), the dog (big dogs welcome), that Le Corbusier chaise longue, wine purchases and just about anything else besides.
